Fannie Lou Hamer. Written by K.A. Ellis. Reviewed by HomeschoolingHighway.com

I received a complimentary copy of this book from The Good Book Company for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

K.A. Ellis has once again introduced us to another person of faith doing great things for God.

I had never heard of Fannie Lou Hamer before, but now I know she was really a courageous woman.

Her main causes that she stood for was allowing Black people to vote and also she was an advocate for unborn children.

Fannie Lou Hamer is an example that we can use from history to our children today.

Fannie loved God and bore witness to that through the Bible verses she quoted, the songs she sang, and the way she lived her life.

Despite others’ cruelty towards her and dealing with punishment from those who hated her and her beliefs, Fannie didn’t let any of that stop her.

She boldly spoke out in front of government officials, spoke in Washington D.C., and she stood firmly for her beliefs and God’s values.

I appreciate that K.A. Ellis put Fannie’s real-life picture at the end of the book, along with a timeline of Fannie’s life. It really helps bring Fannie Lou Hamer to life.

I would highly recommend this book to any Christian family and any homeschooling family that is interested in reading about historical people of faith.

Also, this book would be a great asset to any church library and/or Sunday school or children’s church classroom.
