I received this complimentary product from the Homeschool Review Crew.
Being part of the Homeschool Review Crew, I’ve had the opportunity to look at TabletClass Math’s, Algebra 2 class.
Besides offering Algebra 2, TabletClass Math offers Foundational Math classes, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.
John Zimmerman is the creator and teacher of TabletClass Math, and his Algebra 2 class is comprehensive. Take a look at the topics that are covered in each chapter, and you’ll see what I mean.

TabletClass Math Parent’s Portal
Getting your account set up is extremely easy. TabletClass Math gives you your sign in information so that you can set up your account.
Once signed in, you have two choices for TabletClass Math. There’s the student course and then there’s the Parent Portal. Make sure you look at the Parent Portal and get comfortable with the learning environment.
Inside of the Parent Portal you’ll find your very own message from the teacher.
Mr. Zimmerman wants to provide high-quality classes while making the experience enjoyable. He stresses the importance of working hard, never giving up, complete dedication, and good study habits.
Mr. Zimmerman also suggests that students take notes during each video lesson, show all the steps to each problem, and double check their work.
If the student gets a problem wrong, Mr. Zimmerman recommends going back to review the problem, find out where the error is and then fix it. He says to not move forward until the fundamentals have been mastered, and the previous material is understood.
This is excellent advice, as well as keep a positive attitude and do not skip chapters or other course material.
Parents have access to every quiz, exam, and answer key.
It can all be downloaded and printed easily to keep in a teacher’s binder.
TabletClass Math’s Pacing Guidelines
The pacing is not laid out in a day-to-day format, instead there is a pacing guideline sheet that shows what chapters should be done for the first month, second month, third month, etc. Additionally, the guidelines are broken down for students that want to follow an accelerated schedule, regular pacing, or need a slower pace.
The regular pacing has students working in the class five days per week with each day lasting between forty-five minutes to one and half hours.
The chapters are there in a list, you start with the first one and you just start. In each chapter there is a list of subtopics or units. You should start at the beginning and work your way down the list of units.
Algebra 2 Chapter and Unit Format
There is a short summary of each unit topic and then directions for the students.
For each unit they are to watch the first video, which is the lesson itself, then scroll down past the other videos to do the practice problems. The practice problems are in pdf format and can be easily printed, if you need to.
After the practice problems are complete then the student is to watch the rest of the videos which explain how to get the correct answers to the practice problems. I really like how each practice problem is explained. It really reinforces the lesson and concepts.
Mr. Zimmerman teaches each lesson, but you do not see him. What you do see is his white board and the numbers being written. He does a great job of using different colors to highlight special things.
The videos are easy to hear and understand, you can see everything clearly, and the video controls are simple.
At the end of each chapter is additional practice problems and chapter review notes. These are great resources to use before you take the chapter test.
Algebra 2 Chapter Tests and Final Exam
Each of the eleven chapters have a chapter test. Each chapter test is broken into sections. The longer the chapter test the more sections there are. Each section has twenty problems and a recommended time limit.
The chapter one test is the longest. It has four sections to it. Most of the other chapter tests only have the one test of twenty problems.
At the end of the course is the final exam. Fifty-five multiple choice questions make up the test. The student can use a calculator, and there is a time limit of two hours.
Mr. Zimmerman has included grade recording sheets for parents to use as well as a detailed grade calculation worksheet that walks you step by step on how to figure out your child’s final grade.
TabletClass Math Algebra 2 Recommendation
I would recommend TabletClass Math, Algebra 2 to any child that needs an online math program with videos to watch where the teacher explains and gives examples of each concept. Also, the testing, grading help, and the detailed practice problem explanations are a big plus.
Below is a video where you can see exactly how each video lesson is done.
