Carl Laferton has come up with a beautiful new children’s book specifically designed for adults to use with children.
God’s Big Promises: Bible Story Prayers contains 101 different prayers for kids to hear and say. Ninety-two of these prayers are based on Bible stories that are found in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Each Bible story and prayer page contains the Bible story title, a summary of the Bible story, a verse or two of the passage from the Bible with the reference, and then a prayer section.
Prayer sections can contain one or more of the following: a prayer that praises God, a thank you prayer that thanks God for who He is and what He’s done for us, a sorry prayer so that we can repent of our sins, and then a please prayer where we can ask God for what we need help with.
The hardbound cover contains nice glossy colorful pages. The index in the front can help you find the particular story and prayer that you’re interested in. Also, there’s a nice red ribbon that will keep your place if you’re reading from front to back.
The other 19 prayers in the back of the book are not connected with specific Bible stories, but they have their own special verses about different topics.
The information on the special topical prayer pages contain the scripture reference and the verse typed out as well as the special prayer at the bottom of the page.
I would highly recommend this book to any Christian family who would like to share special time with their children in prayer and teach them how to pray based on scripture.
Carl Laferton’s God’s Big Promises Bible Story Prayer book would also be excellent in a Sunday school room, children’s Church classroom, and/or a church library for young families to have access to.

Carl Laferton is the Editorial Director at The Good Book Company and is a member of Grace Church Worcester Park, London.
He is the best-selling author of The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross and God’s Big Promises Bible Storybook, and also serves as series editor of the God’s Word for You series.
Before joining TGBC, he worked as a journalist and then as a teacher and pastored a congregation in Hull.
Carl is married to Lizzie, and they have two children. He studied history at Oxford University.
